Born in the UK, David has pursued wedding photography for most of his photographic career. He began with wedding photography when a friend saw his portraiture and street photography, then asked him to use that style in capturing their wedding. It was a new experience for David, providing an experience that would resonate for many years to come.
In recent years, David seeks a style that reflects his vision of life. Crafting images with available light whenever possible, he looks for unique environments, beautiful light and techniques to flatter and enhance the images of his clients. He sees the relationships between people and anticipates the interactions. Being prepared is a major part of David's ability to capture unique photography. He also has the innate ability to see things developing between people as they interact. Placing himself where he will not only get great images of the interactions between his clients, their families and guests, but to incorporate the best lighting and environment possible for that moment. Capturing emotionally charged connections in a style that is clearly defined and beautifully expressed is a must for David. Getting his clients to relax is also key in his approach to wedding photography. David is light hearted, adding a sprinkling of fun to wedding days, and giving help in all manner of ways.
Approaching wedding photography with the attitude of blending in, treading lightly and softening the impact of having a "foreigner" in your midst. Observing the nuances of long established relationships, "seeing" those moments developing and being prepared is at the center of David's unique perspective. His work speaks for itself, and in it you can easily see how that approach brings life to the images he captures.
Spending time with family and friends is at the core of David's perspective. He gives much of his spare time to helping others succeed and loves to see them achieve their goals. When the opportunity arises, photographic services are donated to causes and to further the welfare of others. Having this outlook has led David to work in situations that have sometimes been less than attractive, but he considers worthy, and for the benefit of some less than fortunate Denver residents.
